Outside Audio - bring music to your garden

As the spring weather teases us with a fleeting ray of sunshine, more of us will start to think how lovely it’d be to sit in the garden and enjoy music. Or, soon, host some guests outside and create some atmosphere.

But many of us also think that music outside sounds, bluntly, a bit rubbish. The sound blows away or something, right?

Actually, yes! That’s sort of what happens.  And the answer is not to turn it up loud, because it’ll still sound a bit rubbish, but you’ll be that unpopular neighbour as well!

The trick is to split the sounds into high and low frequencies; spread the highs around little and often (hidden in flowerbeds, perhaps) using speakers that are highly directional; while the lows do only need one or two subwoofers to fill it out. Now you can have fantastic sounding music, at a level that’s appropriate for your garden or patio, without annoying neighbours.

Perfect.

If you listen to the announcements in stadiums or stations where you can actually hear what’s being said, they’ll be using this same ‘little and often’ method.

Our favourite system for this Sonance’s outdoor range - https://www.sonance.com/outdoor. They offer different sizes and specifications to suit any size space (balcony/ small garden up to large lawns and beyond), and they even make those ‘look like a rock’ speakers so you really would never know it was there.

And lastly, with our multi-room/ multi-zone audio systems like Sonos, you can link it to what’s playing in the house too, so the living room music flows out into your garden music, all easily controlled from an app on your phone. Get in touch to find out more.
